¡¡¡PARA SIEMPRE DIOS ESTÉ CON VOS!!!

Fecha: 01/04/2013

Hola Mi Familia!

¿Como Están Todos? I really hope that all is going well for each and every one of you! Do you know what, I really still can´t believe how fast time just passes! I´m still in a little bit of shock that this is my last letter to all of you! But whether it is the first or the last I know that I have learned not only a ton this past week, but durning my entire mission and life in Chile! I hope that if just a few words I can explain a few things that have occured this week! I know that won´t be able to explain everything but I definitly will explain the best that I can! So as I have always told each of you before, please have patience as I try to write a few things! Ok here we go!

Well this week has been full of many adventures! On Monday we had our traditional NDH with all of the hermanas that don´t have a NDH and they loved it! We will be doing it again tonight and we are all really excited because the group gets bigger each time with investigators and everything. On Tuesday we had a great time, right before district class we had a breakfast celestial! Which consisted of french toast! It was very good! haha and there was a funny incident! So after the breakfast all the hermanas went into the kitchen to wash the dishes because the elders cooked for everyone, and as we were in there, we realized that one of the elders was in there alone and when he turned around and saw all of us, haha he freaked and yelled "Ayudame" haha it is just funny when you get yourself caught without your companion you have heart attacks, haha it has happened to me as well!

So something else that happened that was really fun this end of the week was that we had mini missionaries! It is when many of the youth get a "mission call" and go to a different part of our mission and have 4 days to walk and work with us! It was just like last year, the only difference is that I knew spanish a whole lot better! jaja. I was also able to see my mini missionary from last year as well because she got assigned to our sector! And I had two young women who were absolutely amazing! Hermana Alvarado and Hermana Jara! There were super amazing! Especially Hermana Alvarado, she is a convert to the church and is the only memeber in her family, and is preparing to go on a mission very soon! When it came time to part it was very hard but we have promised to keep writing eachother and I know that all will be well! But we had some good experiences together and I am very excited for the times that we shared!

This next week is going to be packed with many things that we are doing, one of them being a activity that we are doing with the Soc-Soc, and we are going to make sopaipillas and have other things, just to have them have a good time and come closer. And another great thing! GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!!!!! I´m so excited and I hope that all of you are just as excited! We are going to have a great time and I know that we are in for a great time!!! But this week is going to be the best!!!! and I´m looking forward to it!

Ok well I´m running out of time and I need to get going here! aaaaah! But before I end I would like to leave you with a spiritual thought as always! So I have been continuing to read the "fourth Missionary" and have been reflecting on my mission during this whole week, and there was a part in the talk that I loved a ton and this is what it says! "The purpose and central blessing of life is change.  It is to be changed to become more like Jesus Christ.  It is to incorporate into your character, the qualities of His character.  It is to move from one degree of intelligence and capacity to the next, and from there to the next, until you see God face to face and know Him as He knows you." I really love this quote a ton! Mom when you told me that I would change a lot from my mission, before I left I really didn´t think the change would be drastic, but now that I am looking back from everything that I have learned on my mission, all of my experiences, everything! I have changed! And that is the blessing of this life, being changed to become the person that God is able to see in you! We just need to do our part and give it all over to him, give Him our whole heart and everything we posses so that He can work with us and mold us in the people that He knows we can become! I have been this time and time again! and I know that I will continue to see it each day that comes! We just need to give our heart to Him! Like it says in Helamen 3:35 "they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.

It is hard to say goodbye, but I know that this time that I have had in Chile has been the best time for me! I know that my mission is just beginning! This time that I have had in Chile has been my MTC for the life that I will be coming home to! I know that God has much in store for me and for each of us! We just need to continue forth with unshakeable faith in Him! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of the Love and Support and the Prayers for not only me but the people here in Chile! They have been felt and used I can tell you that as a wittness! I love you all with all my heart! And I will see you all very soon! Please take care until then! And remember the mission is just beginning! :)

Week 61 in Chile - 03/25/2013

CAMBIO 11 SEMANA 4
Lugar: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Morán
Fecha: 25/03/2013
Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Comó Están Todos? I really hope that everything is continually going well for each and everyone of you! Wow can I just tell you it is crazy how fast time is flying by!!!! I really have no idea where in the world that it is going? But I´m doing my very best with the little time I have left and Hermana Morán and I are working as diligent as we can to do this fabulous work! We are so excited to be together and I know the Lord put us together for a special purpose, she is so amazing and we are enjoying every single minute together!! haha and that is the way it should be! This week really has been a good week though, we have done many things and I hope I will have time to write a few of the things that have passed on this week because I´m running a little bit against the clock, because there is a ton to do today, but I will as always try to do my best, just remember to have patience with me today.

This week has been a full week and has really past by so fast! On Monday we were able to have another fun FHE with the Hermanas in our ward that don´t have a chance to have one, and we brought and investigator with us, but it was so much fun! They are always a blast! This week as well we have found a few older ladies that have been very nice to us and we went and talked to them and sang a few hymns for them! There was Ortencia who was very nice and called us Porotitas Bonitas! haha and then one of our future investigators is Maria Elena who is 95 years old and is still doing amazing, we passed by last night and sung for her and shared a message and we are going to pass buy this Tuesday again!

During this week we have had a lot of opposition trying to stop the work from progressing! On thursday I believe Hermana Miskin was going done the stairs and went down the first part, but the second part that has like three steps, she slipped and fell and hit her back hard, and hit the scar right where she has surgery. Long story short they were on bed rest for a few days and talking to Hna. Humphrey and us helping her ice on it. With a lot of prayers and a priesthood blessing she is actually doing ok, it could have been a lot worse but needless to say she will be going home. That is what Salt Lake decided in the end, as well with Hermana Vieda because she has a big problem with her back as well! I have no idea if they are going home with me or if they will be sent home before, but either way it is sad! But we are looking on the positive side and I told Hermana Miskin I would gladly return to being her companion again and we could have companion study through skype and she love that idea! But things are going well here!! :) Hey WAIT A SECOND!! Hermana Miskin just told me that she probably won´t go home, president just called and she is going to have a test trial for 10 days with Hna. Vieda and if there is improvement they will stay if not they will go! PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM!!!!!

Well another amazing thing that happened this week is that there was a baptism in our ward! Esteban, the son of Hermano Vejar was baptized on Sunday and it was a great service! We helped them put together everything and it all turned out super amazing!! They are such an amazing family and it was good to support them in this.

Sorry that this letter is a little short but really I am running against the clock, I´m going over to Cordillera today to say goodbye to Hermana Myrium before I leave! But before I leave as always I would like to leave you with a spiritual thought! Whohoo!! I love the scriptures and things to do with the spirit! I read this week something more in the talk called the "4th Missionary" and I loved what Elder Corbridge said about the spirit and this is what he said: "The gift of the Holy Ghost is the greatest gift available to mankind in this life.  It is the power by which you are sanctified and changed to become like God.  It is the fountain and the only source of power, light, intelligence, hope, love, joy, peace, comfort, knowledge, confidence, clarity and every other good gift.  In this life there is no prize of greater worth, there is no gem of greater value, there is no vault that guards a more valuable possession.  All of the wealth of the world combined is dust and dirt in comparison to this supernal gift made available to every last woman, man and child who is obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. It is available to everyone.  Not everyone has it, but it is available to all." I really loved this quote and I love the gift of the Holy Ghost, it is such a help to each and everyone us us and if we continue to do the things we need to, to mantain it, He will stay! I know that it was a gift from a loving Heavenly Father for each and everyone of us! As well as His Son that He sent for each of us as well! And if there is a few words that I could send to you for this coming Easter weekend, it would be this, "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!"

I hope that this Easter weekend is full of the Spirit for each and everyone of you, and that you all will take a moment to remember the sacrifice that our Saviour has given to each and every one of us! This is my plea, and request! Remember HE LIVES!!!! And also remember that whatever pain, trial, heart ache or experience that we have in this live, will be and can be fixed through the Atonement if we allow it to! Just requires patience, humility and faith! I know that He loves us and wants the best! I hope that you all remember that I love each and everyone of you and that I am praying for you constantly and that I am extremely grateful for your support and love! I promise to write again next week with more adventures. Until then!

Week 60 in Chile - 03/18/2013

CAMBIO 11 SEMANA 3

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Morán
Fecha: 18/03/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? Things are going really well here! This week has been a little crazy and a little stressful in some aspects but I´m always doing my best to learn from what is stressful and make it better so that I can become better! It is that simple! haha but really this week has been great! I hope to write a little bit of things that have been happening, but if this email is short, please be patient with me and just know it is because I´m running around like crazy trying to do all that I need to do, because the time just keeps getting shorter. But here we go with a few items and experiences that have happened this last week!

First things are first, are you ready for this!?!? Ok here we are..... CARMEN SE BAUTIZÓ!!!!!!!! We are so happy that things went very well for her, and she was super excited and a little nervous of course but being able to see that change that came about in her in just a short 3 weeks was such an amazing and humbling experience to show that just a little faith in Christ can bring about such a wonderful change!!! I know that she has not only changed her life, but also the life of her son that passed away 5 months ago, and the life of her 4 year old granddaughter that will now have the chance to grow up in the gospel! We are going to start talking to her husband as well, but we are so happy and thrilled that Carmen was able to take this step, her baptism went amazing and I´m very greatful for the support from the members in our ward! I hope that each of you are supporting the new converts in the ward as well, they need it!!

But other than the baptism things have been pretty good this week, there have been many things that have been happening. One monday we were able to have a wonderful FHE with the women in our ward that don´t have the chance to have a FHE, and it was very fun! We are going to do it again tonight and we are inviting our investigators as well! We are so excited to work with our members more and more and gain their trust. This week also there was a stake activity that was put on by the Relief Society for the anniversery and they put on different shot plays each ward, and our ward had cinderella, there was shrek, and others. But it was a blast! Hermana Morán and I helped out back stage, because Anita who was Cinderella needed to change her dress like three times durning the play in 15 seconds so we had to help her do a quick change! haha and making one play in 15 minutes make it go really fast! But it was a ton of fun!!!

This week was also really cool because we had interviews this week with President! And everything went very well, but it was probally the shortest interview, haha because I will be seeing him in three weeks, but it was great! We also had a training for something really cool that we are doing! So that missionaries in our mission have now been called to clean the ward lists, and I know that we have always been called to do that, but now it is in a cooler much easier way, and we are working with the registro civil of chile to be able to verify everything!!! and it is all on the computer. so for one hour every week we go to the geneology lab to use the computer and start working name by name to verify that they live in our sector and if not we mark it one color so that it gets sent to where it needs to go! and if they are dead another color so that we can start temple work if needed, and then the ones that are in our sector we mark a certain color and then verify that it is right! But it is so cool that we are doing this, and I was very jealous that I won´t be here to help much cause I don´t have much time left and I told Hna. Pulsipher that it would be cool if I could do if from my home computer and help mark everything and the missionaries can verify. AND SURPRIZE!!! She told me that I could!!!!! I will have the ability to help the mission clean out the ward list even when I am at home because I have the google doc and the information of my sector, and can continue to help!!! They would love the help!! I was super excited to hear that!!!! This week will go forth!!!! and continues faster and faster each day!!!

ok but before I end sorry don´t have much time left! I just want to share a spiritual experience from a lesson that we had last night! We went over to a members house to have a FHE with two young men that live next to them from two different families. We taught them about the strength of youth and we talked to them about baptism, and we invited, but there was a catch they didn´t understand completely what we were trying to say, haha but it was great the member started talking to them and gave then an anology and then she invited them to follow Christ and be baptized! and they accepted and then we were able to do our part and invite them to a specific day to prepare and they accepted! I know that this is a short version but my message is that "EVERY MEMBER IS A MISSIONARY!!" Just because you don´t have the name badge doesn´t mean you can´t teach! Look at this family we have been working with them for a while to find someone, and they finally found some people and invited them to be baptized and now we have the ability to try to work with their families!!! We are super pumped!! and I would like to invite each and every one of you to find that one person and be an example of the believers, you don´t need a name badge, just get to work and look and you will find with your faith in Christ, it probably won´t be sudden, it wasn´t for this family, but they found the people and the spirit was strong! I invite you all to pray and look for the people that are prepared because there is always someone!

Well that is it for this time but I would like to let you all know that I love you so much and I think about you all the time! Please take care and I will write again next week and share more adventures!!!! Love you tons!!!

Week 59 in Chile - 03/11/2013

CAMBIO 11 SEMANA 2

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Morán
Fecha: 11/03/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I sure hope that everything is going well for each and every one of you! Sorry that this letter is a little bit late today, we had a ward activity so things have been a little bit rushed today and if this letter is a little short or rushed you will all understand why! But as always please have patience with me! Well just like I just said we had a zone activity today and it was a lot of fun, we went to a campo that is in Quillón and we played Capture the Flag and had a BBQ but it was a ton of fun!!! But things this week have been so amazing and Hermana Morán and I have had so many wonderful experiences this week and I hope to tell you about at least a few of them, we have been blessed from the Lord and we are excited to have this next week to watch more blessing come!

Well this week has been really well I and I would like to share with you as least two experiences because I am running out of time here, but so like I have told you all the last week we are working with Carmen, and things are going super amazing now, and if everything goes well with her interview tomorrow she will be baptized this coming friday! We are super excited because we have been working a ton with her and helping her have the peace that this is a good decision! But she had doubts durning the week, but we had a lesson with her and I remember literally using her own front door and keys showing her by example and explaining the baptism is just the door and that she will have the ability to learn everything little by little after she has opened and walked through the door, and after we had a knelt prayer with her and she said the prayer after she said she felt ready!!!! So we are very excited and planning very frantically everything for the baptism! But all will be well and I will let you know more about it this next week!

So one more experience so we have a man whose name is Nelson that comes to the English Class that we have every week and he speaks pretty good english not perfect but you can understand what he says, and during the week we saw him outside of his house and we began talking to him, and told him we would like to share a messgae with him, he told us that we could come back the next day, we did and share the message with him and lets just say to make a long story short, we did our best but he told us that he wanted us to go and look for others that where more important and needed the message. So we left him with a pamphlet and Book of Mormon, and told him to pray and that we are always in the English class. Well Friday roles around and is English class, Nelson didn´t show up right on time which was different, but towards the end of the class he showed up and you could see that he was worn out and had something one his mind. Well at the end I asked if he would like to do the prayer in English and I promise you the prayer was very special, in the prayer he thanked God the missionaries came to his house because problems were fixed and doesn´t know how, and loved the feeling of the spirit or aurua that he felt! To make a long story short we passed by the next day and now Nelson is listening to us and we are helping him progress so that he can recieve the Holy Ghost which is all he wants! Wants that peace he felt! He is such an amazing guy. haha and he loves it now that I can pray in English haha well the best I can, with him that was my first prayer in English in who knows how long! was a bit weird haha!

But I need to get going here, but before I go I would like to leave you with a spiritual thought and that thought comes from the experiece that we had with Nelson! So talking about the spirit with him you could see that he respected it very much and he talked about how it was a very special and that not just any ordinary person could just have it, and it is true! We need to prepare ourselves and continue every day endurning to the end to that we can prepare ourselves to have this special extraordinary gift from our loving Heavenly Father! I would love if all of you could read John 14:26-27! Remember we have a great potential that we can meet to this potential just continue endurning. Something that I learned on Sunday in Relief Society was we are like popcorn kernals, we all are exposed to the same amount of heat and butter and salt, but each and everyone of us pop differently. The question is do we really know that we can pop to our full potential that our Father in Heaven sees in each of us! I promise you all that yes we each can pop very big and reach that potential if we use the very special gift from our loving Heavenly Father! Remember we are not ordinary people we have been specially prepared to be where we are in this exact moment, so let us all live up to the wonderful potential that He sees in us is my plea!

Remember that I love each and every single one of you and I hope that all is going well for you, remember I pray for you always, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers that you are sending this way, they are blessing not only my life but everyone here! Thank you all for everything and I will write more next week with more adventure from Chillan!!!

Week 58 in Chile - 03/04/2013

CAMBIO 11 SEMANA 1

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Morán
Fecha: 04/03/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I really hope that things are going well for you all! Things here are going really well, and I have had so many adventures this week, haha but it has been super great! We just had cambios so things have been a little bit crazy but we are getting back into the groove of things little by little. But so you are all probably wanting to know who is my new companion and a little bit about her right! haha well Hermana Morán is SUPER BUENA!! She is from Guayaquil, Ecuador! She is from a family of 8 and she is the 2nd of 6 kids! I also learned that her parents were mission presidents a few years ago in the Santiago East mission! And just like Hermana Peña she speaks English because she studyed in BYU for three years. She has so much animo to work and we are so excited to keep working together and watch miracles happen! But that is a little about her! Ok time to remember a few things that have happened throughout this week, I promise that I will try to remember, but please have patience with me like always. I have been a little sick; Hermana Morán was sick when she came because of some virus in the MTC, so lucky I have been able to share it with her, but little by little it is getting better! Ok enough of that, on to other things!

So this week we have been teaching some really great people! We are continuing to teach Iris! and she was able to come to church this week!!!! We were so excited for her and little by little we are continuing to prepare her for the 23 to be baptized! She is super buena and very accepting! We are also working with Carmen still and she went to church for her 2nd time this week, and has just loved everything that we have been teaching her! and I will be sharing another experience about her in the end of my letter! We are also working with a less active family (familia Arriagada) and we are helping them become active again and as well prepare the dad and their daughter, because she turns 8 in may and we are preparing them both so that they dad can baptize his daughter and then preparing the family so that they can go to the temple to be sealed! We are so excited for them, because we know it is possible just take a little bit of preparation. I was able to see Maggie and Jorge, who is a family from Agronomia, they came to our stake conference and I was able to see them! They were the family that we helped be sealed with there kids, so that is how I know that it is possible, but it was so great to be able to see them! We were also able to have a great time this week with the Familia Vejar! But we went over to their house to have our correlation meeting and to talk about things about the work, and we taught hermana vejar how to make donuts! Everyone loved them but it was a ton of fun to go over there and strenghthen the work and the family!

We had a really great opportunity this week, we had our stake conference, but it was a broadcast from Salt Lake City, especially for the south of Chile. We has the opportunity to hear from Elder Corbridge, Sister Burton, Elder Anderson, and President Monson! It was cool to hear Elder Anderson talk in Spanish!  It was so cool and there were many wonderful things that they all talked about! They talked about the Atonement, about how we need to put all our faith in Jesus Christ and become more like him, talked about Tithing, and President Monson talked about how we need to love others as Christ loved! Then he told many great stories as he always does. But it was a really great experience to hear from them, and to have Iris and Carmen have the ability to hear from the Prophet!

Ok well I am kind of running out of time because we are going to go out to lunch with our zone! We are going to the Fuente Alemana (haha I know you love that place Hna. Breannan!) But before I end as always a spiritual thought! So like I told you we had an experience with Carmen that was really cool. So we went over one day this last week and we taught her about the Book of Mormon, and as we told at first what it was and that Christ visited the Americas after His resurrection, she was telling us no that didn´t happened it couldn´t! But calmly we started explaining to her about it so that she could understand, and as we were teaching I had the impression to read to her the part about when Christ appeared to the people, and I hardly ever do that, I usually leave it so that they can read, but because of the impression I told her I wanted to read the experience to her! And as I read 3 Nephi 11:6-17, you could feel that spirit very strongly! and when I was finished we asked her how do you feel? she then responded that she felt really good, then we asked do you believe that he came here to the Americas? and she said yes! I believe! and I know that He will come again! It was such an amazing experience and I was so grateful that I follow that impression to read it to her, but I know that not only testified to her that the Book of Mormon was true, but it also re-testified to me that it was true! I know that the Book of Mormon has so much power and that this book is 100 percent another testament of Jesus Christ that they we are able to come close to him when we read the Bible and the Book of Mormon together! I would like to leave you all with a challenge, and this challenge is to read that part in 3 Nephi and then Moroni 10:3-7, and I would invite you all to take the challenge or Moroni and ask if the book is true. It doesn´t matter if you have asked before or not, it is always good to continue to ask and re ask to reaffirm what you know! And I know He will answer because He did this week for me!

Well that is pretty much it for this week! Remember always that I love each and every one of you so much and I am always praying and thinking of you always! Love you tons and I will return next week with many adventures from Chillan!!!

Week 57 in Chile - 02/2/2013

¡¡¡VOY A SER UNA MAMÀ POR TRECERA VEZ!!!

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Peña
Fecha: 25/02/2013

Hola Familia!!!!

¿Como Estàn Todos? I sure hope all is going well for each and every one of you! Things here are going well but I`m pretty sure as you can tell from the title things are a little bit crazy today, and yes I have been called to train again! Hermana Peña will be going to Hualqui! WOOHOO! It is a really good place Hualqui! But she is going there because she has been having problems with her ankles and tendons, so to be closer to the office, they are moving her there, and I know that there are people waiting there for her! But this means I don`t have a lot of time today, I will have to write really fast, I will try to write down as much as I can remember but if I forget something I`m sorry because I don`t have a lot of time, because we have a doctors appt. in about 20 mins, so please be patient. But here we go!!! :)

Well this week has hads its ups and downs as life usually is, right? but we do our best to not let the downs get to us and we focus on the ups! :) but this week we were able to teach Iris, who is continuing to do very well but she still hasn`t come to church so we are going to have to work with her on that! But she is an amazing lady! We are also continuing to work with Tomàs and he was able to come to church and he loved it, but we have a problem with one of the commandments that we need to work on with him but we are working with it little by little! But they are both doing great!

This week we found a lady, whos name is Carmen! She is such a wonderful lady! So Hna. Peña and I were walking in the street when I saw this lady walking with this little girl and I was like, "contact her, contact her" to make a long story short, she talked to her, told her who we were and she let us in for a little bit. Turns out 4 months ago her son was killed and she now takes care of her granddaughter, but we left her with a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and then we returned the next day, taught it to her, and she came to chruch the next day with us. She loves the fact that she can have the ability to live with her son forever! She is such an amazing lady, and I am so excited to be able to teach her! I will keep you updated on how things go with her!

Things have been going really well in our ward, we are starting to get the ward pumped up to get going better with missionary work. Hermano Vejar, who is like our father in this ward, he takes care of us so well! He is so pumped up for the work and we are doing really well at planning things and getting the work moving foward even faster! I`m very excited to see what will happen in these last weeks that I have! But we have an hermana in our ward, Fernanda, who is leaving for her mission in Santiago this week, she is so excited, and we are going to go and say bye to her tonight! But things in general are going amazing!

Sorry just like I said I just don`t have a lot of time today, sorry but before I go I would like to leave you with a spiritual thought as always! I don`t know if I have shared this scripture with you before, but I love it either way and I would like to share it with you again. This scripture is in D&C 130:2, which says: "And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy." But I really love this scripture, really this scripture has been one of my theme scriptures during my mission, because it has a lot of meaning to me, that really our families that exist here, will exist there as well! We just need to put all of our trust in to the wonderful plan that God has prepared for each and everyone of us! And use the wonderful gift of Agency that each of us have as well! Chose the Right and remember to Return to his presence with Honor! We will all have the chance, that has been one of the number one things that has been drilled into my testimony here on the mission! The eternal glory is ours forever if we choose it to be!!!! I know at times it is not easy, haha trust me I know! But it is possible if we put our trust in Him and endure to the end!

Remember that I love each and everyone of you with all my heart! I know that time is passing very rapidly and soon I will be leaving this world and coming home to a new life! I am continuing to learn so much! and I know that this last cambio will be the best of all!!!!! I hope you all remember I am always praying for you!!! please take care and I will write you again next week with more info!

Week 56 in Chile - 02/18/2013

CAMBIO 10 SEMANA 2

Donde: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Peña
Fecha: 18/02/2013

Hola Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I really hope that all is going well for each and every one of you all! Things are going great here! Just taking care and using every little bit of time that I have left, because it is flying by in a flash! It is so crazy! But things are going amazing! My companion is awesome and the hermanas I live with are awesome and the sector I have is amazing! Things are just amazing and awesome all the way around! Just to let you know this letter will be a bit shorter, and I sorry about that this day is just going by a little fast and we have a lot to do! but I will try to write about the adventures just have patience as always!

So things with my companion are going wonderful! Hermana Peña is just full of energy and a great spirit, oh and something that I forgot to tell you all last week she speaks English!!! She studied English for two years and speaks it very well, I still have to help her but that is alright! But President told her that he put her with me one cause I´m a good trainer, haha :) but so that I could teach her a lot of English and get her to speak very well because she will probably and definitely be training when I leave, and it will be an american sister missionary because she knows English! So we are preparing together and we are having a great time!

Well there was a conference for new missionaries this week so I was working with members again this week, which is always fun! And because of valentines day Hna. Miskin and I made little notes for people in our ward and we went and stuck them on their fence to show them that we loved them all! It was great. But we were happy that Hna. Peña and Hna. Vieda went to the conference because we have learned great things for our sector and we are working well. We are still continuing to work with Tomás and also Iris, and things are going well with them, but we need to help them assist church this week, but I know they will go! English class continues to go amazing and I really love everything about the work here, the only thing is breaking in new shoes haha can be hard, but duck tape fixes anything haha! I just want you all to know, there are no worries because I have been learning a ton and I have changed a lot and am growing from my experiences, just like we all need to do! :)

Like I told you I´m sorry this letter is short there is just a lot to do today! but before I go I would like to share a spiritual thought with you! I was reading in Jacob today and it was in chapter five about the olive tree! It is a great chapter, but there are a few verses I want to share with you where are in 21 and 22 which says:  "And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master: How comest thou hither to plant this tree, or this branch of the tree? For behold, it was the poorest spot in all the land of thy vineyard. And the Lord of the vineyard said unto him: Counsel me not; I knew that it was a poor spot of ground; wherefore, I said unto thee, I have nourished it this long time, and thou beholdest that it hath brought forth much fruit."

I really loved these verses because it goes to show that the Lord is always working in His vineyard and he knows what and why He does this things that He does, so that He can bring forth the best fruit that He sees in each and everyone of us! Remember the quote from last week to not be scared of your light and to remember that "no experience is a total loss if we learn from it" God has a purpose for all that He does and knows that we can handle all of it!

Remember always that I love each and everyone of you and that I am praying and thinking about you all continually each day! and I am able to feel your prayers and support as well thank you so much to each and every one of you! Please take care until next week and I will write more I promise, but until then!

Week 55 in Chile - 02/11/2013

CAMBIO 10 SEMANA 1

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan Viejo
Compañera: Hermana Peña
Fecha: 11/02/2013

Hola Familia!!!

¿Como Están Todos? Hope that all continues to go amazing! Things here have been busy but have been really good! There have been many changes this week, one of which as you all know I am training again! and just many things in working and helping others. But hopefully I am able to write about a few of the things that have been going on here this week! So please continue to have patience as I try to remember a few things that have been happening! Bueno! Here we go!

Well this week just like I told you I had to go to Concepción and look for my new companion. My new companion is Hermana Peña! She is very amazing! She is from here is Chile, from Iquique, the most north you can go! But I really the Lord is continuing to bless me just like He always is, Hna. Peña is the sweetest, kindest person you could ever meet and is just full of energy and very prepared to be a missionary! It is true what they say, "they just come more and more prepared!" So now in the house there is Hermana Peña and me, then we have Hermana Miskin and Hermana Vieda, who is from Columbia! We have all be having a blast together and things are going amazing! And I know that they adventures are just going to continue!

This week has been a good week, it has been a little bit hard in the finding aspect, we had a really hard time finding people, but we are going forth with much faith for a new week and we know things are going to work out well! The time is getting short and the need to find is getting higher! But this week we were able to find one lady who is really good! Her name is Iris, we were walking in the street and Iris called us over and wanted to talk with us, and to make a long story short we have started to teach her! But she is really awesome, and very receptive. Iris has some tumors in her brain that are benign but they still have been affecting her health, but she isn´t letting that get in the way with her faith. Her faith is very strong in God and wants to do her best to follow Him! But both Hermana Peña and I are really excited that we found her and have this opportunity to teach her! We are also teaching another man whose name is Tomás, he is a really good guy, he is about in his 40 or 50s and is accepting to hear about the gospel, or so we hope, we had a little incident and now we need to take priesthood holders with us now, we were teaching about the restauration and how he could get married for every with his wife, and he said I would like to get married, and we said great with you wife right? I know you can see this one coming, and laugh if you want but it was creepy, he said no, and then we asked him questionly with who, and said me! So needless to say I got a little creeped, and we are having Priesthood come to lessons too teach him, it is the same thing that happened with Hugo and Hna. miskin. Not sure why, haha but it did! But we are going to go this week to teach him again and see things! Adventures right! :) English class this week was a blast, thank you mom for sending me the words to Green Eggs and Ham! It was a blast being able to read it with them and they all loved it! They read very well!

Ok well I don´t have much time left I have to get going to do a few things but before I end I would like to leave you with a spiritual thought as always!! So there as a quote that an hermana shared with me this week that I loved and I would love to share it with all of you this is what it says! "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God! Your playing small does not serve the world! There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won´t feel insecure around you. We are all ment to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It´s not just in some of us, it´s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsiously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others!" I really loved this quote because it is true! We are all amazing because we are children of God! Don´t be afraid of your light is my message this week!

Ok remember always that I love you all and I am praying and thinking about you always. Please take care and I will write you all more next week!

Week 54 in Chile - 02/04/2012

¡¡¡¡VOY A SER UNA MAMÁ DE NUEVO!!!!

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 04/02/2013

Hola Familia!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I sure hope all is well with each and every one of you! Things this week has been absolutly crazy, I will definilty say that it has been a roller-coaster ride, but we all continue on with faith and determination right! At times that is all we can do, and if we do it we are able to see the Lords hand in our life, and I have see it this week. But how about we get started with a few things that have happened this week, I´m sorry if this letter is a little short but we have cambios and we have many things to do to get ready! Well first things are first as all of you can see from the title I have been called to be a trainer again, just like a called it at the begining of this cambio! but this past few weeks I was doubting if it would happen or not but looks like I was right! But what makes it even more exciting is that Hna. Miskin is training as well! So there will be the two of us and our daughters in the same house and Hna. Frandsen is going to krav which is in Penco! But this is very exciting and we will tell you all next week who our new comps are because we won´t know until tomorrow, but for sure we know that they are latin! So more information will have to wait until next week!

Well so that all of you know Hermana Miskin is doing a whole lot better, she was actually doing better after the blessing but was asked to go and get an MRI anyways on monday so that is what we did, but on monday she had to get the perscription to have the MRI and then on Tuesday we went back to concepcion to get the MRI done, but because the results were going to take a few days we went back to chillan, and she went back to concepcion with another Hermana on wednesday until thursday night! So I was with member for two days! Lets just say when we saw eachother again we were so thankful to have our comps again! Try doing comp study without a comp it is a little impossible! And I was going through withdrawels! But at least she was back, then Salt Lake told her that she was not allowed to leave she had to stay in the house for three days and rest, which is was definilty not happy about, she was going crazy that she couldn´t leave, but we follow the advice, and went out with members all week long, it was hard I will have to admit but we had a little bit of success. Haha something that was really funny so Hna. Miskin´s uncle sent her two little nerf guns and when she was in concepcion on thursday she had an interview with President and the Hermana that when in before her was sent to go to the Provo mission because of health problems, and when Hna. Miskin heard that, she hid the nerf gun in her brace, and went in for her interview pulled it out and said, "President if you take me out of this mission I will shoot you!" haha they bothed laughed really hard! And she isn´t leaving just training! Woohoo! I so called it for her! I told her she would! But we are both excited! and we have many things to do today!

Well something else that happened this week, Hermana Brennan finished her mission and is going home today! It was very sad! She is the best Hermana ever and has been with me since the begining! So it was a little hard to say goodbye but we promised eachother that we were going to go and do the teaching resource lab in the MTC together helping all the new missionaries, but she was such a great example and friend for me and always will me! haha we also burned her "old Jewish man coat" that is what she called her rain coat because that is what it looked like! But I got a video of it and everything! I´m tempted to do the same thing before I leave! haha! We will see!

I´m going to have to start ending things right here because we have a ton to do today! but before I leave as always a spiritual thought! Well my spiritual thought this week is going to be very simple but has a lot of meaning to it! It is a scripture that many know, which is in Mosiah 2:17 which says: "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." This scripture really has a lot of meaning, and it says it clearly we need to serve our fellow men! Serve all those that live around us, help them feel the love of the Lord and become instruments in His hands! In the apartment we have been talking lately that helping those that are around us is the most important thing, if there is someone that we see that is sitting alone in church or whatever, don´t just leave them alone go and befriend them and help them know there way around, that is all that everyone is looking for is love and the feeling of being wanted. I would love to invite each and every one of you this week to be aware of the people around you in all situations! Help them, Love them, Share with them! Help them feel wanted so that they will be likely to return! I promise the Lord with bless you so much if we do our best to be His hands and help those around us!

Ok well I need to get going here! but remember that I love you all so much and I hope that all is going well for each and every one of you! Remember that I pray and think about you all always! Love you tons and I will have more adventures for next week!

Week 53 in Chile - 01/28/2013

CAMBIO 9 SEMANA 6

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 28/01/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I really hope that all is going well for each and every single one of you! This week has been a good week, and like every week has had its ups and downs, but you always do your best to not let the downs get to you and move on, "No experience is a total loss if you learn from it!" Right? Right!! But this week we had an amazing thing happen! Ready for this? HUGO SE BAUTIZO!!! It was a really great baptism and he had a great time as well, you could see on Sunday when he was confirmed that he felt like he was a million bucks! We were glad he had a good time; haha but like with every baptism there are always a few details that seem to get in the way, haha so we went to the church to set up everything and we brought the iron and everything to iron the clothes that we got from the elders, and we looked at the tie and the shirt and the tie was falling apart and the cuff of the shirt was also falling off, and this was 15 mins before that baptism, haha so we had to do a very quick sewing and ironing job, but needless to say we got it done with good team work! But all went well in the end!

Ok as for this week I will apologize in advance right now I really do not have a ton of time to write and I have to get going here, which I will explain in a sec, but if this letter is short please forgive me, nexts weeks should be better. But today we have to go to Concepción because we need to go and get an MRI for Hna. Miskin, so before the mission, last April, Hna. Miskin had a back surgery on her spine before she came, she had woken up one morning and her leg was paralyzed and that was why she needed the surgery last year, well to make things short during the week as we have been walking around her foot has been feeling funny and the muscles feel very tired and at one point her foot was numb, she got a priesthood blessing and it has been feeling better, but just to make sure that all is ok with her Hermana Humphrey asked her to get an MRI and talk with the doctor down her, so if all of you could please keep my companion in your prayers, she is so amazing and has so much love and excitement for this week, she really needs your prayers and support cause she need to be here! I would appreciate it if you would do that! Thanks!

Really this week has passed by so fast that I really can´t think of much to say, the only thing I can really think to tell you about besides the baptism was that we had a mission conference this last week! It was a really great conference and I learned so much! We learned about sanctifying ourselves to the Lord, how to take care of our health and putting all our faith to finding those we need to find and working with the Ward! But it was amazing! The only thing that was very hard was that this turned out to be my last mission conference, I thought I would have one more but when I got there and looked at the schedule of the conference, my name was among those that had to give there farewell testimony! Lets just say I had a freakout and it was very hard to have to sum up my mission in a testimony when I was not mentally prepared to do it, but it went alright and relied on the Spirit to help me a ton!

But that would be part of my spiritual thought for the day, remember always to rely on the Spirit that you will be given the words you need to say when you need to say them, remember D&C 84:85! But I would like you all to read a scripture that I found this week as I was studying in PMG that I really loved, I don´t have time to type it out but I would like you all to look it up and read it, it is in, Mosiah 4:6-12, this was a scripture that has really helped me out this week! I know that my Savior lives, and that He is at our sides helping us out, we just need to put our faith in Him and His Atonement and remember that we will all be saved in the end if we do all the things that he has taught us! It is amazing this message! "Remember this is the testimony that we give last of all, that He lives!" I really know that my Savior lives I have seen His hand each day in my mission and would urge each and everyone of you to look for His hand in your lives each day because I know that He remembers each of you! 1 Nephi 21:16!

Remember always that I love each and everyone of you and that I hope that all of you are doing amazing! I pray for you always and I want to thank you for each and every one of your prayers I really can feel them. Please take care until next week and I will send more adventures! Love you tons!

Week 52 in Chile - 01/21/2013

CAMBIO 9 SEMANA 5

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 21/01/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I hope that all is fine and dandy for each and every one of you!!! Things are going pretty good here! There have been ups and downs as always but we do our best not to let it get us down! Entonces, lets get on to writing what has happened this week! This letter may be a bit short, so sorry, but be patient as I try to remember a few things that have happened this week!

Well this week we were going to have the baptism of Hugo but with a few complications it didn´t happen this week, but we should be having his baptism this coming Saturday, so if we could have everyone´s prayers to help us out with the baptism and everything that would be highly appreciated. We are also teaching Francisca who is a really nice lady, she came to sacrament meeting this Sunday, and we believe that she liked it, we are going over tonight to see what she thought because we didn´t have too much time after church because they had an earthquake drill. They are starting to put an emergency exit plan for the chapel if a big  earthquake occurs like the one in 2010, while we are in the chapel. It was good, and they are working out the errors and tune-fining it but it was a good practice.

I bought new shoes this last week, and the process of breaking them in is not really a thing that is enjoyable. This is probably my 5th pair of shoes, I keep wearing a hole in the right shoe and I´m literally walking on the ground, so it was time for new shoes, haha looks like I´m taking it literally when they tell you to choose the right! But it is getting better, the blisters still hurt, but I´m breaking them in little by little. It has also been very hot here this week, you can tell that we are literally in the middle of summer! it is getting in the high 30´s (Celsius) I´m not sure what that is in Fahrenheit, but all I can say it is HOT!! We are sweating a lot down here, and I have the sister missionary tan line again on my feet! It is great! But sometime a ton of heat or a ton of cold has its limits, but we are making the best of it and working really hard!

This week something funny that happened, so we had just left the house and I started coughing really hard because I choked on something, and as we were walking by our neighbor was like wow sound like you are really sick, and I just told him I swallowed wrong, and I couldn´t think of the work, and just as a joke, Hna. Miskin told him I was choking on a fly, and he believe that a fly flew in to my mouth, and told me yummy! and to make it even better the bishop walked by two seconds later and told him the same thing and he just started laughing. So looks like I´m now the sister missionary who swallowed a fly, "Now why she swallowed a fly I don´t know why, hopefully she won´t die!" LOL! :)

We also had a ward activity this week which was a lot of fun! We did a scripture scavenger hunt! We put it together as missionaries, and we hid scriptures all over the church and had three groups that started out with one scripture that they had to look up and the scripture had the next clue about were the next scripture was hidden in the church! It was a ton of fun and we all made tons of cookies and sweets for the activity! So it was a great success! We are also continuing to teach English Class which is so much fun! We have a good amount of students of all ages that love to learn! It is something I look forward to each and every week! We are going to teach them how to sing happy birthday in English next week because it is someones birthday and we are going to bring a cake! It will be a ton of fun!

Well that is pretty much it for this week, so before I end on with a spiritual thought as always!!!! I have finally done it!!! I have finished the New Testament and I have started reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish! I have been very excited to start reading it, because I have wanted to finish it one last time before the end of my mission! But I´m currently still in 1 Nefi right now, I will be in 2 nephi this next week, but there are so many great things that I could write pages and pages of things that I have learned but one thing I would like to share with you all would be in 1 Nephi 16:10,16,28-29 which says: "10 And it came to pass that as my father arose in the morning, and went forth to the tent door, to his great astonishment he beheld upon the ground a round ball of curious workmanship; and it was of fine brass. And within the ball were two spindles; and the one pointed the way whither we should go into the wilderness. And we did follow the directions of the ball, which led us in the more fertile parts of the wilderness. And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the pointers which were in the ball, that they did work according to the faith and diligence and heed which we did give unto them. And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things." I really loved this scripture a ton, because for me it reminds me a ton of how our Liahonas are really our scriptures! They can help us through the wilderness of life if we heed our attention to them with our faith and diligence. The Lord with talk to us through them always and will give us the things we need to know in the time we need to know it! I bear testimony of it because I have seen it in my own life. So my invitation to each of you would be to continue with your daily scripture study if you do, and if not start! I promise that you will find the answers you are looking for when you need them if we diligently study the scriptures daily!

Thank you all for everything that you do!!! Remember I´m always praying for each and everyone of you and thinking about you always. So until next week with more adventures from libertador! Love you all always!

Week 51 in Chile - 01/14/2013

CAMBIO 9 SEMANA 4

Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 14/01/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I hope that as always things are going really well! Things here are go really well! I have so many things to tell you from this week, haha many many funny stories! Many things have happened so as always I´m going to try my best to tell you a few of the stories so that you can all have an idea of things that are going on here! So as always just have patience with me because there are many things going through this little head of mine, but I promise to do my best! :)

Well as for people that we are teaching, we are still teaching Hugo. He is doing really well and progressing well, he has quick smoking, and says that he is very  excited for his baptism, he is always saying "Soy Mormón" It is awesome he has a lot of excitement, and hopefully things keep progressing well, and that he will have his baptism this next Saturday! We are also continuing to teach and find some good people, which always make us happy, because if we don´t find, we can´t teach, and if we can´t teach we can´t be missionaries! So there are things that go hand in hand! But Hermana Miskin and I are doing really well together, we always have a blast, and have many adventures! Haha many adventures in the blistering heat! It has gotten so hot here! You can tell it is summer time! But it is all good, God is nice to use and sends a good breeze every once and awhile, count your many blessing right! :)

Ok onto funny story number one, so on Tuesday we went over to eat lunch, and all was really good, but something interesting happened and lets just say it has to do with maggots. So we had a salad, and Hermana Miskin loves spicy things and there was a spice that the hermana had on the table called Merken, and Hna. Miskin put it on her salad, and all was good, but when the second plate came out which was chicken, Hna. Miskin put more of the spice on her chicken but something was different this time, she was sitting there looking at her chicken and the hermana told her, it´s just chicken Hermana don´t worry. Which is was but in the spice it turned about there was maggots and Hna. Miskin was looking at her chicken watching the maggot move and thinking, "how in the world am I suppose to eat it?" but she at it trying to push as many as she could away, but still ate some. Then when the hermana went into the kitchen, Hna. Brennan took a spoon to get a little bit of the spice to look at the maggots cause she didn´t believe, so she is looking, and the Hermana walks back in and Hna. Brennan just shoves the spoon in her mouth, and she was freaking out in her mind, and the hermana thought she was freaking out because it was hot! but it was because she just put maggots in her mouth. Wow adventures of the mission right! It is a good thing I still haven´t picked up on the spicy part! That I know of I didn´t eat any but you never now!

Well on Saturday, two funny things happened. So there was a huge slug outside of our apartment, and so we were taking pictures with it, and Hna. Brennan decided to stab it with a fork and look like she was going to eat it! I guess the maggots got to her head, but then because it was dying she put salt on it to get it out of its misery which I don´t know if that helped, but whatever. But it was Sunday morning that something really funny but scary in the same time that something happened. So because there are four of us now in the house we had to buy a bunk bed so that all of us would fit, and all of our beds are downstairs, but the bunk bed Hna. Miskin sleeps on the top and Hna. Frandsen on the bottom, and every once and a while one of the boards falls out and we just have to put it back into place. But at like 5:30 in the morning we heard one of them get loose and we thought it was normal, but then we here, more of them start to fall, and Hna. Miskin´s matress starts falling through, lets just say we all jump out of bed, and yelling at Hna. Frandsen to get out of her bed, and us trying to get Hna. Miskin out of her bed. Yeah we had that scare, but I think we are going to find a power screwdriver to screw it in so that it stays. But lets just say that was an adventure, as well as the adventure of cleaning out the freezer last night, lets just say Hna. Miskin was very determined to have it all cleaned out, so what does she do, she drags it all outside and smacks all the ice out with hot water and a knife, but it was an adventure and I have a video I can show you when we are home!

Well that is pretty much it for this week, many adventures right? Well I need to get going here, we are going out to lunch, but before I leave as always a thought from your favorite missionary! My thought comes from a Dr. Seuss quote I found in my quote book. Which says:

                              Today you are you!
                              That is true-er than true!
                              There is no one alive
                              That is you-er than you!
                              Shout aloud “I’m glad
                              To be what I am!
                              Thank goodness I’m not
                              A clam or a ham or a
                              Dusty old jar of
                              Gooseberry jam!
                               I am what I am!
What a great thing to be
                              If I say to myself
                             Happy Every Day to me!
                                ~Dr. Seuss~

I just love this quote because it helps us to remember we are who we are. And I would like to add, that we need to remember our divine nature and potential that we all have in us from God, I know that we have so many characteristics and we just need to devolp them! But that is it for this week, I will write more next week, and I hope that all is well with you all remember always you are in my prayers and I love you all a ton. But until next week with many more adventures!

Week 50 in Chile - 01/07/2012

CAMBIO 9 SEMANA 3

Donde: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 7/01/2013

Hola Mi Familia!!!!

¿Como Están Todos? I hope that all is going well for each and everyone of you. Things are going really good here. This week just like every other week has just flown by, and has had it´s ups and downs. But it has been really good overall. Sorry that I´m writing you all super late, but we had a zone activity today, and we went to Yungay, which is far way, and we went to see a waterfall! It was super awesome, and I got some really cool pictures, which I will send this next week! just because I´m a little short on time. But back to the activity, so it was a blast we left this morning really early, and we rented a bus to take us there because it is 2 1/2 hours a way and we got lost a bit on the way, haha it was funny we took this wrong turn, and as we were driving through this woody place, we crossed this scary bridge that looked like it would fall through and we also saw a sign saying, "watch out for the crocodiles", and all of us hermanas are like what did we get ourselves into! But in the end we found it and it was so much fun! We were on the top and took many pictures and then we hiked down to the bottom which was quite and adventure in its self, and took pictures on the bottom. I loved the hiking! It was so beautiful everything!!! But we had tons of fun!!!

Well this week I think the biggest down that I had was I got sick even worse than I have been for the past 3 weeks, I got a really bad deep cough, and lets just say none of us could sleep, I felt so bad for my comps. But don´t worry I´m doing a whole lot better now, thanks to a priesthood blessing I received on Sunday! I love blessings they help so much!!! But on Friday, I had to stay in because the cough was so bad, and I was not a happy camper about that, but I dealt with it. Missionaries just want to be out and about, haha! But we didn´t have a member to come to the house so I had to go to the Family History Center in the church and stayed with a Sister there while she was looking at microfilm and doing things. I slept for about an hour and Hermana Brennan and Hermana Frandsen came to see me really fast and they bought me a coke and chocolate to help me feel better for having to stay in, they are awesome! But lets just say I shouldn´t of drunk the coke because I was completely awake after that and couldn´t sleep and so I work on a little bit of the family history on my account updating a few things! haha but it was an adventure. I´m just glad I´m feeling better, anyone who knows me knows how stubborn I get when I know I need to work and I´m sick (right Hna. Steinmetz?) Lol, but I´m pretty sure that was my humbling experience for the week.

Well things are going well in our sector, and we are working still on finding people to teach, and we have an investigator that is doing really well! Hugo is progressing really well and will be getting baptized in about 2 weeks! We are really excited for him!! But things are going good in our sector, and will be much better now that I´m feeling better! haha I think the only thing now we need to worry about is the heat!! It has been really hot and it is going to get hotter!!! But we are going to survive!

Ok well I am running out of time, so spiritual thought really fast! So I have been reading in the New Testament like you all know and as I have I found one of my favorite scriptures that I know you guys know but I still love it, which says, "I can do all  things through Christ, which strengtheneth me!" Because it is so true, all we need to do it look to our Savior and put all our trust in Him and do what He has taught us and we will have the power to do all things if we have the faith to do it! and if it be according to God´s will. But I just really love this scripture because it gives me a lot of strength when I need it!!

Sorry this letter is a little fast I promise next week will be a bit better. But remember always that I love all of you so, so, so much and I´m always praying for each and every one of you!!! Please take care and I will write more next week!!!

Week 49 in Chile - 12/31/2012

¡¡¡¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO; ADIÓS 2012, BIENVENIDOS 2013!!!!
Lugar: Libertador, Chillan
Compañera: Hermana Miskin
Fecha: 31/12/2012
Hola Mi Familia!!!!
¿Como están todos? I hope as always you all are doing fantastically amazing! This week as all weeks has gone by really fast, but has been full of many adventures and has been really fun! And just to let you have a late Christmas present, I am downloading pictures! Sorry that it has taken me so long to download them, haha my bad! I promise I'll try to get better! But at least you have them now! Better then never! :) Well lets get going here with the week, as always please be patient with me as I try to remember, but here we go!

Well Monday was a really good day, we had our p-day and then we went to work for a bit, we went over to Ingrid and Ricardos house and we shared the Christmas story with them and at some cake, then we went over at about 9:00 to a members house and we had Christmas dinner, which is called Noche Bueno here. It was a lot of food, we all have no idea how we ate it all, and for the fact that we aren´t used to eating a ton late at night, but we ate a big thing of pork, and longeniza, and potatoes, and like 4 different salads, with ice cream to top it off. haha lets just say it made us a bit sick, but we all loved it! They do things a bit different here, they eat the dinner late at night then they open presents at midnight, and are up until like 4 in the morning, then sleep until 5 the next day, it is different, but we went home at like 11 and then went straight to bed after planning and woke up and had a traditional Christmas and opened our presents in the morning!

Tuesday was a really good day, so like I said we woke up and opened all our presents and I opened your package, thanks for everything that was in it, I was really excited to open it! But I think the best present of all, wait let me think what was it, oh yeah that´s right, I GOT TO TALK TO ALL OF YOU!!!! I was so good to see all you again and talk to you guys. Sorry that skype was a little weird functioning but it was all good in the end right! Technology can be a blessing and a disaster! haha but we love it any way, because we can talk from two opposite ends of the world! It was so good to see you all! and I´m glad to know everything is good!

But that is pretty much what we did for Christmas but it was really amazing, but this week has been a really good week, but having pretty much two p-days, well one and a half, made the week go by really fast. But we are still teaching some really good people, Ingrid got sick this week, so it has been a bit hard to see her, but hopefully she is getting better. We found a couple this week that was awesome. So Hermana Miskin has had a feeling for a long time that we should contact in a certain part of our sector, but she never did it with Hermana Mena, so we decided to go this week, and see what people we could find, and we contacted this one house, and this man came out and we told him who we were, and he said,"oh you are the people who are bringing my free DVD right?" and we had no idea that he called for one, but we told him that we wanted to share a short message with him and that we would return tomorrow with the DVD. But we taught Jóse and Isilda, and they are amazing! They knew about the church and did many things in the '80s, but never were baptized, but have high respect for the church, and about 1990 they started going to another church and really haven´t talked to the missionaries since then every once an a while but never the lessons! That is as old as I am!! But they told us that they would like to know more, and we are starting to teach them, we are so excited! The spirit works wonders to help us find the people that we need to!

Well that is pretty much it, but before I leave as always I want to leave you with a spiritual thought! So I have been reading in the New Testament like you all know and I am loving every minute of it, I should be done in about a week or two, well that is my goal, but I have been reading in Corinthians and I read this verse this morning that I loved a lot! Which says: "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal" (2 Cor 4:17-18)  I really loved this scriptures, because really our afflictions are only for a moment, (D&C 121:7) and if we just have patience we will see with eternal eyes why something happen. Just keep enduring to the end and all things will be well. We have a new year coming up, and just remember to make resolutions that you know we can keep, and leave behind the things that don´t do us any good. That is that wonder of this live, is to learn from each experience and move on better then we were before. "No experience is a total loss if we learn from it!" and I would add, "No year is a total loss if we learn from it" Lets make 2013 the best year ever!

Remember That I love you all so much and I´m always praying for each and every one of you! Please take care, and I promise to write again next week with more adventures! Love you all!
